Irish Run Tuscany B&B - Mediterranean Sunshine and a welcoming Irish cup of tea.

Friday, October 12th, 2007

A warm welcome will greet you when you arrive at Villa Fiona, a lovingly restored farmhouse, which was tastefully refurbished in the last year by owners Maggie, from Ireland and Giacomo from Sicily.
Hence you are guaranteed sunshine -  Mediteranean sunshine and a great cup of tea!
Perfectly placed for touring, Villa Fiona is only 20 mins from Pisa airport and The Leaning Tower of Pisa, direct connection with Ryan Air.
- 30 mins from Lucca a beautiful medieval city of Tuscany, not to mention the art-capital of Florence which is less than an hours drive away.
Situated in the enchanting countryside of Tuscany, Villa Fiona is only 5 mins from the local medieval village of Vicopisano, which, according to the owners of this B&B, is a well-kept little secret of Tuscany!

This Irish run Tuscany B&B has been the best kept secret - until now -
Checkout their website, You will not be dissappointed.

Kilkenny 2-19, 1-15 Limerick All Ireland Hurling Final

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

8:17  goal by Eddie Brennan

9:02 goal by Henrey Shefflin,

2-2 Kilkenny 0-0 Limerick

http://dynamic.rte.ie/av/243-2284642-382-215.smil

The margin was at best reduced to 5 points midway through the 2nd half. Kilkenny held the margin between 5 and 9 points for most of the match, after their blistering start, to which Limerick failed to recoup the deficit for the remainder of the match.

Limerick will have to return next year to steady the rock at the opening exchanges, and use their experience from this year to overcome the hurdle next year … the hurdle of Kilkenny - no small hurdle at that…

Kilkenny were simply masters yesterday in the opnening 10 minutes.
At times after that during the match, the crisp first time catches by Kilkenny seemed to be slightly off, but with a 9 point lead, it is difficult to stay in top gear.

Whenever Limerick took a dominant stretch in the match, Kilkenny simply replied with a few points - quickly - to eliminate the hard work by Limerick. Other teams would have faded when that happened, but not Limerick. One thing the public learnt about Limerick this year, they are never beaten.

Even midway throuigh the 2nd half, as Kilkenny stetched their lead to 9 points, Limerick responded with a Ollie Moran goal. 2 other goal chances for Limerick passed.

Kilkenny roared to success as Shefflin climbed the Hogan Stand steps to raise the McCarthy Cup for Kilkenny’s 30th time. An emotional speech which incorporated the heartbreak felt by the team - and sub-keeper McGarry when his wife died tragically in July.
