boards.ie - getting banned - Sport of Irish people in Europe - should it go under Abroad, or Gaelic Games
Thursday, November 8th, 2007On boards.ie, a popular bulletin board in Ireland, read by Irish based in Ireland and Abroad.
I posted a summary of the European Gaelic Football Finals in Barcelona, in the gaelic games forum under the Sport Category.
There is also an Region : Abroad Category. (all the regions are in Ireland PLUS Abroad)
Under Abroad - there are forums - China, Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States - and Abroad
So where would you post a note aboout Europe?
Under Abroad ? yes - that’s what I thought too.
So I did,
On it - to gauge the level of interest in GAA in Europe - I asked -
Ever play Gaelic Games in Europe?
and posted a short few lines about the GAA in Europe - to attact new Irish in Europe that may not have known that it is being played in 25 clubs across the continent.
Boards.ie reponse - I’m banned.
according to the rules “The Abroad forum was created to be a source of information for posters who are currently, were, or want to be, living abroad, as opposed to just visiting.”
‘admin’ at boards.ie were very quick to ban me - for apparently posting a message under Abroad section about playing gaelic games there, And despite emailing them on 3 occasions, they have not replied. So I’ll wait and see, …
