€10 million drugs bust - flight from southern Belgium to Weston Airport Dublin Ireland.

MILLIONAIRE businessman Jim Mansfield was caught up in a €10 million international drugs bust yesterday when it emerged his private jet was being used to fly 50 kilogrammes of heroin into Ireland.

It is understood that two men flew out in the small jet from Weston Aerodrome in Dublin early on Tuesday morning to Kortrijk-Wevelgem airport in southern Belgium, where they were to collect another man.

Once he boarded the plane, the three were arrested by Belgian police. Luggage containing 50kg of heroin was also seized. The Irish-registered jet was impounded.

The three — two Irishmen aged 32 and 38, and one Briton aged 53 — appeared before a Belgian magistrate yesterday. They will appear again tomorrow.
